Mutt Mushes - Our Trainers are hosting hikes with dogs beginning this month. See below for dates and times!
Pack Prowls - Ever wondered what it feels like to walk an entire pack of dogs? Now you can. See below for dates.
Canine Cooking Class - Join Trainers Brandi and Dorothy as they take you through step-by-step cooking up some homemade dog biscuits.
AKC CGC and Canine Scent Detection Evaluations - Our trainers are now evaluating the Canine Good Citizen Test and hosting an evaluation for scent detection classes. See below for details.

Coming in March:

Group Agility Classes - Join our trainers as they walk you through how to do some basic obstacle work and learn how to chain different apparatus together.
AKC Obedience Rally - This fun sport will separate the well trained from the meh when it comes to canine obedience. Trainers will go over obedience skills and commands that dogs and handlers must have in order to pass each phase of Rally. Dates for training coming soon!
AKC Tricks - Our Trainers will be teaching dogs and handlers the staple tricks and some extras needed to put together a tricks performance to wow not only fellow dog lovers but also those AKC Trick Evaluators. Help your pup earn a title all their own!

Feb. 3rd - National Golden Retriever Day (Post pictures of your Golden or Gold Mix on our FB Page)
Feb. 7th-14th - Have a Heart for Chained Dogs (Learn more about this week here.)
Feb. 14th - Pet Theft Awareness Day (Some tips to help prevent animal theft!)
Feb. 19th - National Boston Terrier Day (Post pictures of your Boston or Boston Mix on our FB Page)
Feb. 20th-26th - National Justice for Animals Week (Check out this article that helps explain what this week is all about.)
Feb. 20th - Love Your Pet Day (Show some love and even spoil your pet today. Here are some ideas to help you spoil your furred and/or feathered friends.)
Feb. 22nd - World Spay Day (Today Veterinarians everywhere are spreading the word to get those pets spayed and neutered. Consider donating to your local low cost vet clinic today.)
Feb. 23rd - National Dog Biscuit Day (Post the biscuits on our FB Page, or register and learn how to make your own homemade dog biscuits today!)

Monthly Howl Photo Contest

The Monthly Howl needs a new Canine of the Month for the March issue!

Submit your pup's picture along with their name, age, breed(s), and some of their hobbies for a chance to win.

The winner will receive a bag of treats, 2 free 30 minute walks (to be performed by one of our certified trainers within 30 days of the award date), and a free photo session with your canine.

Submissions can be sent to either our Facebook Page under the appropriate post or emailed to admin@unitedk9academysanmarcos.com with "The March Howl Photo Contest" in the subject line.

Entries for the March issue will be accepted from Feb. 1st through Feb. 16th. The winner will be chosen on Feb. 17th.
